The material, examined
What the name tells you
Forsterite is the magnesium endmember; natural gem olivine contains iron as well. A family relationship does not authenticate a particular geological or extraterrestrial origin.
A useful question at the counter
What supports the identity and origin? An extraordinary source claim needs records specific to this piece.
A note for your collection
Protect from abrasion, impacts and extreme heat. Use gentle cleaning appropriate to the individual stone.

References are labeled by role. A source documenting a belief is not evidence of a medical or mineralogical effect. Reflection prompts are C&C editorial suggestions.
