The material, examined

What the name tells you

There is no single lapis formula or crystal system because the object is a rock. The appearance reflects the combination of minerals, and a personal preference for white patches is different from a trade quality grade.

A useful question at the counter

What is known about dye or impregnation, and what evidence supports the locality?

A note for your collection

Use gentle cleaning and avoid acids, harsh chemicals and treatment-damaging solvents. Mixed minerals and possible treatments matter.

Sources & further reading

References are labeled by role. A source documenting a belief is not evidence of a medical or mineralogical effect. Reflection prompts are C&C editorial suggestions.
