The material, examined
What the name tells you
GIA uses comparison stones to assess color. A persuasive green photo is not an independent grade, a natural-origin determination or a treatment report.
A useful question at the counter
Is it natural or laboratory-grown, and are fractures filled? A valuable purchase deserves a suitable report.
A note for your collection
Fractures and fillers matter. Avoid ultrasonic and steam cleaning; use gentle care appropriate to the individual stone.
Sources & further reading
References are labeled by role. A source documenting a belief is not evidence of a medical or mineralogical effect. Reflection prompts are C&C editorial suggestions.
