The material, examined
What the name tells you
Chrysoprase and chromium-colored chalcedony are different named materials. A chemical explanation is a stronger identity claim than color alone, and should be supported when it matters to value.
A useful question at the counter
What supports nickel-related chrysoprase rather than dyed agate or a different green material?
A note for your collection
Use gentle cleaning and keep treatment status in mind. Avoid harsh solvents on an unidentified polished stone.
