The material, examined
What the name tells you
A geode is a structure, not a species. The surrounding rock and the crystals inside it may require different care, and more than one mineral can share a cavity.
A useful question at the counter
Has the specimen been tested, or identified only as a pale blue geode? Keep locality labels with the whole piece.
A note for your collection
Do not soak or scrub a fragile geode. Dust gently, protect the crystal tips and keep display conditions stable.
Sources & further reading
References are labeled by role. A source documenting a belief is not evidence of a medical or mineralogical effect. Reflection prompts are C&C editorial suggestions.
