The material, examined

What the name tells you

Heft is a comparison, not a home laboratory result. A large porous cluster may feel different from a solid crystal, and a matrix can distort the impression. Document the form before drawing conclusions.

A useful question at the counter

Are you comparing a solid crystal or a mixed rock? Weight alone cannot identify the entire specimen.

A note for your collection

Handle thin blades gently. Avoid abrasive cleaning and household chemical experiments.

Sources & further reading

References are labeled by role. A source documenting a belief is not evidence of a medical or mineralogical effect. Reflection prompts are C&C editorial suggestions.
