01 · The material

Natural History

Aragonite occurs in settings including caves, hot springs and biological structures. Cluster shapes alone do not identify its origin.

02 · Observe

Under the Loupe

Twins can make a cluster look six-sided even though aragonite is orthorhombic. Count apparent shapes carefully.

03 · Ownership

Collect & Care

Keep delicate sprays and clusters cushioned. Avoid acids and abrasive cleaning.

04 · The human story

History, Lore & Tradition

Documented history

The name refers to Aragón in Spain. A mineral name is not evidence that your particular specimen came from its namesake region.

Meanings & modern crystal practice

These associations belong to spiritual traditions and personal symbolism, distinct from mineralogical facts.

C&C’s original practice notes associate this material with acceptance and discipline. A reminder that a steady practice can begin with a very small action. These are contemporary spiritual associations and editorial reflection suggestions, distinct from mineralogical properties.

Sources & further reading

References are labeled by role. A source documenting a belief is not evidence of a medical or mineralogical effect. Reflection prompts are C&C editorial suggestions.
