The material, examined

What the name tells you

A banded slab and an individual transparent crystal can share the same mineral identity without sharing the same grade, provenance or care weaknesses. Do not make a famous mine attribution from color alone.

A useful question at the counter

Is the source documented? Does a collector label apply to this exact piece or only to nearby pieces in the inherited box?

A note for your collection

Avoid acids, abrasive cleaners and impacts. Give carved and polished surfaces gentle handling.

Sources & further reading

References are labeled by role. A source documenting a belief is not evidence of a medical or mineralogical effect. Reflection prompts are C&C editorial suggestions.
