The material, examined

What the name tells you

Rounded aggregates can conceal individual crystal form. Look at the whole specimen—including matrix and neighboring minerals—before identifying a polished piece from its pale green alone.

A useful question at the counter

Is the green host established as prehnite, and what evidence identifies its inclusions?

A note for your collection

Protect brittle pieces and cleavage surfaces from knocks. Use gentle cleaning rather than aggressive mechanical methods.

Sources & further reading

References are labeled by role. A source documenting a belief is not evidence of a medical or mineralogical effect. Reflection prompts are C&C editorial suggestions.
