The material, examined
What the name tells you
The older Handbook description itself flags structural uncertainty. This record deliberately avoids a falsely precise crystal-system label or universal formula. A compact silica-rich gem material and a soft earthy coating should not receive identical care.
A useful question at the counter
Is this soft chrysocolla-rich material or a harder silica-rich aggregate? Ask what supports the identification.
A note for your collection
Start with dry, gentle dusting. Avoid acids, prolonged soaking and abrasive cleaning of soft or porous areas.
Sources & further reading
References are labeled by role. A source documenting a belief is not evidence of a medical or mineralogical effect. Reflection prompts are C&C editorial suggestions.
